Fleet Director- Remote

Job Summary
Fleet Director drives strategic leadership and operational performance for a 1,000+ asset, multi-location fleet. Responsible for long-range fleet strategy, lifecycle management, and cost optimization, including acquisition, utilization, and disposal while balancing leased vs. owned assets. Partners with Operations, Finance, Safety, and Supply Chain to align fleet strategy with growth, builds scalable systems and high-performing teams, and employs data-driven decision-making. Oversees maintenance programs, uptime, vendor contracts, telematics, and regulatory compliance to maximize asset uptime, safety, and total cost of ownership. Requires deep knowledge of fleet operations, maintenance, telematics, CMMS, and a strong track record in leadership, budgeting/forecasting, and strategic execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, or related field required
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Strong leadership experience (10-15+ years) in fleet/transportation/logistics/equipment management
- Minimum 5+ years in senior leadership (Director, VP, or equivalent)
- Proven success managing large multi-location fleets (1,000+ assets preferred)
- Experience with leased fleets, vendor management, and cost optimization
- Deep knowledge of fleet operations, maintenance programs, and lifecycle management
- Experience with telematics, fuel systems, and CMMS/fleet management platforms
- Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and related compliance requirements
- Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) or similar certification preferred
