FLEET DIESEL MECHANIC

Job Summary
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and diagnostic repairs on diesel, gas, propane, and electric fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, and medium duty delivery trucks. Execute daily scheduled and unscheduled road calls for disabled vehicles while maintaining repair records and DOT compliance. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, order replacement parts, and monitor pre and post trip DOT records to ensure regulatory adherence. Keep the shop clean, return tools daily, and report vehicle damage immediately to the supervisor. Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed, adhering to on-call requirements and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years relevant work experience
- HS Diploma/ GED, or equivalent
- Valid KY Driver's License and safe driving record
- Must be able to meet regulatory requirements to operate vehicles and other equipment used
- Must be able to obtain a Class A- CDL (required following a period of on the job training)
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule (Including weekends and holidays when required)
- Ability to fulfill on-call requirements
- Must have personal tools and tool box
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with good and safe judgment and decision making

- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions

- Follow all company policies, procedures and DOT related compliance and laws
- Must be able to drive for long periods of time as needed
- Ability to work indoor/ outdoor temperature/ environments, noisy conditions, and near parts cleaning solvents, petroleum based lubricants other fluids related to the job
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Diesel Mechanic preferred; equivalent experience acceptable
- Class A or B CDL preferred
