Job Summary
Fleet Boat Captain responsible for steering vessels on inland rivers, ensuring crew and environmental safety, and coordinating tow construction. Leads safety meetings and drills, maintains high safety standards, and ensures compliance with USCG requirements. Requires 8+ years of experience, MMC/advanced training (SCI, CEMS, etc.), TWIC or state ID, and the ability to navigate and operate a large tow; willing to work a 7/7 schedule and live within an hour radius. Competitive compensation ($600 daily rate) with comprehensive benefits including medical, HSA, vision, dental, 401K match, PTO, life/AD&D, and more. Must be able to read/write English and pass pre-employment physical and drug screen; able to work in extreme weather and perform duties safely and effectively as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience
- MMC; Advanced education and training (SCI, CEMS, Etc.)
- TWIC, or state ID required
- Must be able to read and write English
- Commitment to work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures
- Complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen
- Able to work in extreme weather
- Ability to supervise and direct a crew; effective communication and teamwork
