Job Summary
Manage daily work and safety for associates engaged in building, grounds, sanitation, fleet maintenance, refrigeration systems, and security while handling labor hours and consumable supplies within budget. Prepare work schedules, coordinate emergency response, and administer asset selection and inventory for the fleet and facilities departments. Establish preventative maintenance schedules for ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, fire protection, and electrical systems, then oversee all fleet and facility projects for quality and timely completion. Utilize maintenance tracking software, conduct audits for food safety and DOT records, and enforce company policies through regular meetings and safety inspections. Submit ideas for efficiency improvements and ensure all commercial equipment and driver certifications remain compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- 3-5 years maintenance management experience
- Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting Company standards
- Complete a Sysco approved defensive driving program
- Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certification required
- HAZWOPER 24 hrs Training required
- Incident Command System trained, or obtains within 12 months
- Certificate, licenses and registrations in refrigeration required
- Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months
- Working knowledge of ammonia and Freon systems
- Proven knowledge of environmental regulations/legislation and governing bodies
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- The associate works non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call
- May occasionally be required to travel to other Operating Companies or the corporate office as business needs dictate
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate in diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and braking systems preferred
- Certificate in fleet trade/mechanic preferred
