Job Summary
Flatbed driver responsible for operating a tractor-trailer to deliver precast concrete to job sites, adhering to DOT and TH&E safety regulations, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, securing loads with chains, ratchet binders, and straps, completing required paperwork (driver logs, bills of lading, trip summaries), and coordinating with local dispatch to ensure on-time, compliant deliveries from Spartanburg, SC. The role requires ability to work in various weather conditions, maintain vehicle condition, and obtain customer signatures for proof of delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License Class A
- Acceptable driving record (no prior dui/Dwi), no crash with fatality, no historical pattern of speeding
- Ability to pass company/DOT physical
- Ability to pass company/DOT drug and alcohol test
- Ability to work in various types of weather
- Ability to respond with remaining hours of service to the local dispatcher’s preliminary order for the next days’ scheduled deliveries
- Ability to work all available hours of service per Federal Regulations
- 25 years of age, or 23 years of age with 2 years' experience hauling similar concrete products
- Ability to lift/carry grade 70 5/16” chains that are 25’ long
- Ability to lift/carry and use ratchet binders
- Ability to lift/carry and use 2” or 3” straps
- Ability to push/pull or drag chains, binders or straps overloads up to 13’6” in height
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull/drag tarp and secure it properly
- Ability to climb ladder/tractor/trailer/load up to 13’6” in height to secure load
