Job Summary
Milken Community School is seeking a part-time Flag Football coach to provide leadership for the Middle School flag football program under the Athletic Director and Head of Athletics. Responsibilities include coaching players, planning and directing practice sessions, developing game strategy, ensuring player safety, managing equipment and records, coordinating transportation to competitions, and participating in events such as parent nights and awards nights. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to monitor and support student-athletes’ academic progress, and adherence to school rules and policies. Hours vary with athletic seasons and may include Sundays, nights, and early mornings.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with student programs in a middle school setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the specified sports program
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
