Job Summary
Lead daily waste collection, hauling, and site operations for a high-volume fleet in the Miami area. Oversee route execution, dispatch, staffing, and fleet utilization while ensuring activities meet safety standards and service expectations. Manage operating budgets, analyze financial data, and track key performance indicators to drive profitability and operational efficiency. Champion a safety-first culture, enforce compliance with transportation and environmental regulations, and lead managers and frontline teams. Maintain strong relationships with commercial and municipal customers, resolve service concerns, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Significant progressive operations management experience, including responsibility for leading complex, high-volume operations.
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel locally as business needs require
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience in solid waste, waste hauling, recycling, environmental services or a closely related fleet-intensive operation
- Previous experience as a General Manager, District Manager, Operations Director, Business Unit Leader or comparable senior operational leader
- Demonstrated experience managing financial performance, budgets, operating expenses and/or P&L responsibility
- Strong understanding of fleet-based operations, route management, dispatch, productivity and service delivery
- Experience leading managers, supervisors and large frontline workforces
- Demonstrated ability to build strong teams, establish accountability and improve operational performance
- Working knowledge of applicable safety, transportation, environmental and workplace compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use operational and financial data to drive decisions
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong customer-service orientation with experience managing significant client or stakeholder relationships
- Proficiency with business technology, reporting systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Environmental Management or a related discipline
