Job Summary
Operate fixed-wing aircraft safely and effectively in compliance with federal regulations and manufacturer recommendations while coordinating decision-making with team members and patients. Maintain in-depth knowledge of aviation policies, ensure aircraft cleanliness and functionality, and actively foster peer education through flight reviews and mentorship under the Company Pilot Development Program. Assist medical crewmembers with patient loading, oxygen replenishment, and equipment transport, requiring physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move in confined aircraft spaces. As a Lead, Instructor, Check, or Safety Representative, manage satellite base functions, evaluate pilot performance, and oversee safety issue resolution. Requires ATP rating, 2,000–3,000 flight hours, and night instrument proficiency; 42 weekly hours at Cortez Air Base, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Commercial certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and instrument airplane
- Eligible to complete an ATP CTP course within one year of employment
- 2500 Hours in Airplanes
- ATP rating for Multi-Engine Land Airplanes
- 3000 Hours in Airplanes
- 1000 hours Multi-Engine
- 200 flight hours at hours in airplanes at night
- 300 flight hours instrument of which 100 in actual instrument
- 500 Pilot in Command flight hours in a multi-engine airplane
- 500 Pilot in Command flight hours in a turbine airplane
- Completed an ATP CTP course prior to aircraft training
- 2000 Hours in Airplanes
- Continuously employed for 2 years as a pilot at Intermountain Health
- Must hold a Commercial certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and instrument airplane
- Eligible to complete an ATP CTP course within one year of employment

- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Must be able to support the weight of aviation and clinical equipment while transporting it
- Must be able to push or pull portable equipment, including heavy items
- Must be able to expect to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand or sit in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs to and from and off and on aircraft
- Must be able to raise or lower an object from one level to another
- Must be able to operate aviation equipment, tools, computers, and devices requiring the ability to move fingers and hands
- Must be able to see and read various monitors and documents
- Must be able to transport oneself from place to place
- Must be able to move around on hands and knees, including in small confined spaces within aircraft
- Must be able to lower body by bending at the hips and the knees or to place body weight on one or both knees
- Must be able to interact with others requiring the employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information
- Must be able to identify volume, tone, and quality of telecom signals
