Job Summary
Operate fixed-wing aircraft safely and effectively in compliance with federal regulations and manufacturer recommendations while maintaining an in-depth knowledge of aviation policies. Execute independent critical thinking for preflight planning and coordinate decision-making with team members, communication specialists, and patients. Ensure aircraft cleanliness and functionality, assist medical crewmembers with patient transport and equipment handling, and perform physical duties including lifting up to 50 lbs and navigating confined aircraft spaces. When acting as Lead, Instructor, Check, or Mentor Pilot, manage satellite base functions, evaluate flight performance, and foster peer education. Monitor safety issues, facilitate resolution of safety-related problems, and participate in safety committee reviews. Requires 2500–3000 hours in airplanes depending on aircraft type, with specific ATP ratings and night/instrument flight experience. Located at Cortez Air Base, Colorado, with a 42-hour weekly schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a Commercial certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and instrument airplane
- Must be eligible to complete an ATP CTP course within one year of employment
- 2500 Hours in Airplanes
- Must hold an ATP rating for Multi-Engine Land Airplanes
- 3000 Hours in Airplanes
- 1000 hours Multi-Engine
- 200 flight hours at hours in airplanes at night
- 300 flight hours instrument of which 100 in actual instrument
- 500 Pilot in Command flight hours in a multi-engine airplane
- 500 Pilot in Command flight hours in a turbine airplane
- Must hold a Commercial certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and instrument airplane
- Must have completed an ATP CTP course prior to aircraft training
- 2000 Hours in Airplanes
- Continuously employed for 2 years as a pilot at Intermountain Health
- 200 flight hours at hours in airplanes at night
- 300 flight hours instrument of which 100 in actual instrument
- Required to lift at least 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- EMS Experience
- King Air 90/200 PIC time: 100 hours
- PC-12 PIC time: 50 hours
- For turbo-jet operations: 200 hours turbo jet
