Job Summary
Drive a variety of vehicles along fixed routes in Lafayette, West Lafayette, and Purdue University, delivering safe, reliable, and courteous public transit service to the community. Maintain outstanding customer service while connecting with passengers from all walks of life, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude to handle vehicle-related tasks. Possess a valid Class B Indiana Commercial Driver's License with passenger and air brake endorsements, or qualify to obtain one during training. Adhere to all traffic rules, pass ongoing random drug and alcohol testing, and meet motor vehicle and criminal background standards. This role is full-time, safety-sensitive, and offers a structured pathway through Ivy Tech Community College's CDL training program.
Required Qualifications
- Outstanding customer service
- Valid Class B Indiana Commercial Driver's License with passenger, and air brake endorsement with ability to pass DOT physical OR the ability to obtain a valid Class B Indiana Commercial Driver's License with passenger, and air brake endorsement with ability to pass DOT physical during the initial training period
- Must meet motor vehicle license and criminal background standards established by the Corporation
- Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations
- Some mechanical aptitude
- Physically and mentally qualified to safely operate commercial passenger vehicle and perform all related essential job functions
- Must participate in ongoing random drug and alcohol testing
