Job Summary
Lead troubleshooting and reliability improvements for fixed mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, piping systems, tanks, heat exchangers, and valves. Serve as the site's mechanical subject matter expert to provide technical guidance for complex equipment issues and support Management of Change (MOC) activities. Perform root cause failure analyses, improve maintenance strategies using reliability-centered maintenance, and participate in Process Hazard Analyses and safety investigations. Develop engineering documentation, procedures, and equipment specifications while providing occasional after-hours technical support as part of the engineering on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a chemical, petrochemical, refining, or related process manufacturing environment
- Experience with fixed mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, piping systems, tanks, valves, and other stationary equipment
- Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and mechanical integrity programs
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills
- Must have familiarity with the following API standards: API 510 – Pressure Vessel Inspection
- Must have familiarity with the following API standards: API 570 – Process Piping Inspection
- Must have familiarity with the following API standards: API 653 – Tank Inspection
- Must have familiarity with the following API standards: API 576 – Pressure Relief Device Inspection
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
- Experience with FMEA, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Asset Criticality assessments
