Fixed Assets Accountant

Job Summary
Review invoices and supporting documentation to determine proper accounting treatment for capitalization versus expense in accordance with US GAAP. Create and maintain fixed asset master records in SAP, including asset class, depreciation key, useful life, and cost center assignments. Process fixed asset additions, transfers, retirements, disposals, write-offs, and intercompany asset transfers while maintaining complete supporting documentation. Execute monthly depreciation runs, reconcile the Fixed Asset subledger to the General Ledger, and investigate discrepancies. Support internal and external audit requests, including government incentive audits, and prepare monthly roll-forward schedules. Coordinate with Engineering, Facilities, and Project Management teams to verify project completion and monitor Construction-in-Progress. Partner with IT to develop automated fixed asset management solutions and participate in platform enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting
- Strong knowledge of depreciation
- Understanding of capitalization policies
- Understanding of internal controls
- Experience with SAP ERP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Experience with SAP Fixed Assets module
- Experience supporting audits and tax reporting
