Job Summary
Fitter/Welder responsible for fabricating a wide range of metal projects, including cutting and welding with flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment. Tasks include preparing, assembling, tack welding parts; maintaining organizing work area; hand-welding and flame-cutting to join components; cutting and beveling with oxy-acetylene torches; structural welding using FCAW & SMAW; aligning parts per specifications using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers; assembling/disassembling weld setups; and reshaping metal to meet specifications. Requires knowledge of metal fabrication, MIG welding proficiency (TIG a plus), ability to read blueprints, and ability to work under pressure with deadlines. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience in a structural welding environment is preferred
- Ability to pass a Fillet Weld Test
