Job Summary
Fitter/Welder at Alamo Structural Steel, LLC performs fabrication of miscellaneous metal projects, including cutting and welding with flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment. Responsibilities include preparing, assembling, tack welding, maintaining work area, hand-welding and/or flame-cutting, cutting and scarfing with oxy-acetylene torch, structural welding using FCAW & SMAW, aligning and fitting parts per specifications, assembling/disassembling weld setups, removing high spots and bevels with hand tools, and reshaping metal to specifications. Knowledge of metal and shop fabrication equipment, MIG welding proficiency with ability to pass a welding test, TIG welding knowledge, ability to read blueprints, and ability to multi-task under deadlines are required. Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma or GED and welding-environment experience preferred; ability to pass a Fillet Weld Test; physical ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds; equal opportunity employer and drug-free workplace compliant with ADA.
