Job Summary
Fitter/Welder role focused on welding and fitting structural materials for steel fabrication projects. Responsibilities include welding to AWS/AISC procedures, welding in multiple positions, reading and interpreting blueprints, laying out and assembling components, gouging and scarfing as needed, burn/tack welds, finishing and cleaning surfaces, and maintaining a clean work area. Must pass AWS D1.1 weld test and fitter test; requires high school diploma or GED (or equivalent) and ~12 months of stable work experience. Certifications and knowledge of structural metals, blueprints, and welding procedures are essential. Based in Ottawa, KS with on-site shop operations; standard safety PPE applies.
