Job Summary
Interpret fabrication and weld drawings to prepare, align, and assemble structural frames, bases, and assemblies for Panelmatic's engineered enclosures. Perform MIG welding on mild and stainless steel while measuring, fitting, and aligning channels and beams using squares, grinders, and layout tools. Operate shears, brake presses, torches, plasma cutters, and overhead cranes safely, then conduct finishing work including grinding, cleaning, and verification of conformance to drawings. Follow quality assurance procedures to check for distortion and document inspection results, maintaining a clean, organized work area aligned with 5S principles. Notify the lead person or Inspector when products are ready for inspection.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication or welding
- Ability to read blueprints and use measurement tools
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Blueprint and drawing interpretation
- MIG welding proficiency (mild and stainless steel)
- Structural fit-up and layout accuracy
- Equipment setup and operation (press brake, plasma cutter, shears)
- Dimensional verification and QA documentation
- Two plus years of experience in the use basic tools (squares, clamps, fillet gauge, angle grinder, etc.)
- Two plus years of experience in shear, brake press, turret punch, CNC laser, ironworker, band saw, welding machine
- Cutting torch, plasma cutter, grinder, overhead crane, ratchet straps, and other hand tools
