Job Summary
Fitter/Welder responsible for assembling and fitting structural materials per drawings, welding in all positions, and performing gouging/scarfing as needed. Must weld a variety of materials, follow AWS/AISC procedures, read blueprints, and pass AWS D1.1 weld test. Maintains clean, organized work area and adheres to safety rules; contributes to production of complex structural, bridge, and industrial projects with emphasis on quality workmanship.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 12 months of stable work experience
- Must pass required weld test and fitter test
- Cert in AWS D1.1 weld test
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to use welding equipment and hand tools
- Ability to perform layout and measure
