Job Summary
The Welder/Fitter (Skilled Welder II) is responsible for the fabrication, weld, and final installation of steel components in the production of blast-resistant, modular buildings and other industrial buildings. You will work with cranes, jigs, torches, plasma, hand tools and welding machines and must meet third-party inspection requirements under AWS, ABS and DNV compliance standards. Proficiently welds components in flat, vertical and overhead positions; performs daily fit up and lay out duties; fabricates pieces to conformance with blueprints and specifications; manages task budgets and schedules; cross-trains across manufacturing stages; adheres to safety and security rules and maintains a clean work area.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of structural steel welding experience
- Knowledge of proper fitting/welding techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and product specifications
- Must pass onsite 3G/4G weld test and offsite, third-party Short Arc and/or Flux Core MIG test during interview process
- Ability to obtain company required welding certifications, within 2 attempts, within 45 days of employment
- Must be able to pass a company pre-employment including background check and drug screen
