Job Summary
Hands-on apprenticeship in fit-up, fabrication and welding (MIG/GMAW) at the San Antonio plant, under experienced guidance. Responsibilities include local delivery and execution of fit up, fabrication, and core welding to vendors and managers, operating welding equipment (MIG/GMAW, plasma cutter, flame-cutting), reading and reviewing blueprints and specifications, and maintaining accurate reports. Emphasis on safe work practices, 5S, Kaizen participation, and ongoing training; preferred 6G welding experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Compensation starts at $21.50/hour with standard benefits; shift is 1st shift (Mon-Sat, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or certifications
- 2G plate welding test
- 6G short arc pipe welding test
- read blueprints and specifications
- GMAW welding processes
- MIG welding experience
- ability to operate welding equipment
