Job Summary
Fitter responsibilities include fitting up various plate/structural weldments prior to welding, reading complicated shop drawings, and laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting together fabricated parts of structural metal products for a welder to complete. Requires 5 years of fitting experience in heavy plate/structural work and owning personal tools; working with beams, columns, angles, channels, and plate components.
