Job Summary
Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications using measuring tools and align parts according to blueprints. Operate fabricating machines such as brakes, grinders, and flame cutters to bend, cut, and form metal components. Position braces and clamps for welding or riveting, then chip off excess weld and slag using scrapers or arc-cutting equipment. Review parts from the kitting area against prints and fabricate or revise fixtures, jigs, and gauges as needed. Use forklifts, cranes, and hand tools to assemble structural frameworks and housings from raw material. Perform duties in a high-energy, rapidly changing production environment with potential overtime, including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Technical School
- Minimum of one-year of related experience and/or training
- Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
- Must be able to work 4:30pm – 1:30am along with any required overtime which may include weekends
- Night shift premium offered ($2/hr)
- Travel up to 10% of the time
- Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks
- Operate a motor vehicle, forklift, and/or other heavy equipment
- Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines
- Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices
- Follows processes and standard procedures
- Uses hand tools and power tools
- Understands how to use the computers, including such tasks as turning the computer on and off, locating and opening files, navigate to websites, perform searches, and download files
- Clear and effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
