Job Summary
Fitter on Orient Express Corinthian, contract 5 months on/off. Responsible for daily maintenance and cleaning of engines and mechanical equipment as directed by the Engineer in charge. Reports to the Staff Engineer and on duty Engineer. Practices safety drills and complies with safety and pollution prevention regulations. Leads by example in health and safety and ensures proper use of equipment, PPE, chemicals and safety devices. Requires STCW 95 certification, ASE A-III/5, strong knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and vessel machinery, experience with stripping engines and rebuilding, and prior shipboard experience. Must be physically fit, with excellent English communications; capable of working in engine spaces, handling tools, and joining a technical loading team during provisions intake and ship operations. Rotation details and salary are contract-based. Must be able to live and work in confined spaces, with ability to work overtime and adapt to irregular schedules in a marine-engine environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid STCW 95 certification
- Valid ASE Certification A-III/5
- Good knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, operation and maintenance of vessel machinery
- Experience with stripping engines down and rebuilding
- Experience on vessels in an equivalent position
- Physically and medically fit
- Moral integrity
- Excellent fluent English (verbal, written and technical)
