Job Summary
The Fitter/Welder Helper position requires assembling and preparing structural components of generator enclosures following technical drawings. Candidates should have strong mechanical skills and understand fabrication principles.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand dimensional tolerances
- Skilled in using measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, squares, levels)
- Familiarity with structural steel and sheet metal components
- Understanding of safe lifting and handling practices
- Ability to identify defects, misalignments, or damaged materials
- OSHA 10 or 30 General Industry (required or must be completed upon hire)
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift certification (preferred if handling materials)
- First Aid/CPR Certification (recommended)
- Company-specific fitter/blueprint reading test
