Job Summary
Design and implement fitness programs according to American College of Sports Medicine guidelines, performing evaluations and maintaining ActivTrax workouts. Operate the weight room and cardiovascular areas by enforcing rules, ensuring cleanliness, and managing opening/closing procedures. Connect with members on the fitness floor, via phone, and through consultations while maintaining physician clearance forms in accordance with HIPAA. Requires 2 years of exercise science experience, CPR certification, and proficiency with Windows applications. On-site role at Ochsner Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare provider in the Gulf South.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years experience in exercise science or a related field
- CPR Certified
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Individuals who reside in and will work from Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C. are not eligible for remote work position
Desired Qualifications
- Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications
- Certification as a Personal Trainer
