Job Summary
The Salvation Army Kroc Center seeks a Fitness & Sports Program Manager to develop, organize, deliver and administer sports leagues, recreation programs, and activities for youth and adults. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and supervising staff and volunteers; acting as Manager on Duty in the Gymnasium; planning and directing games, facilities, officials, and scorekeepers; researching new programs; managing program budgets; coordinating practice plans, schedules, registrations, and relationships with schools; overseeing POS and CCMS data; and ensuring high levels of customer service. Certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED and Oxygen are required within 30 days of hire. Proficiency in English is required, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School graduate or equivalent
- College degree preferred
- 2+ years experience with children in sports/recreation/camp environment
- 1 year experience developing, implementing, scheduling and evaluating varied sports recreation programs
- Supervisory experience preferred
- CPR/First Aid/AED and Oxygen certifications (within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to manage programs to a diverse population
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- English readability/writing; bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills
