Job Summary
Provide fitness floor supervision and basic exercise instruction for members, guests, and medically integrated program participants. Screen health history information, coordinate medical clearances, and schedule fitness assessments, orientations, and follow-up appointments. Deliver assessment results with exercise guidelines and program recommendations while promoting ancillary services like personal training and wellness coaching. Arrive as first responder to medical emergencies, utilizing AED and first aid supplies, and complete incident reports. Perform facility rounds every 30-60 minutes to monitor pools, locker rooms, and equipment, maintaining cleanliness and reporting maintenance needs. Conduct strength and conditioning group fitness classes if NCCA accredited. Work part-time at Kishwaukee Health & Wellness Center for $16.00/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in a health-related, exercise science, kinesiology, or physical education major
- CPR/AED certification
- Ability to lift 45 pounds
- Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor
- Proficient computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- Prior part-time work experience or part-time internship in the fitness industry
- Nationally recognized NCCA accredited certification
