Job Summary
Fitness Instructor will lead up to 20 participants through the Pure Barre experience and teach 2-5+ classes per week across available time slots. Responsibilities include studying choreography and class planning, learning quarterly choreography updates, keeping the studio organized, and physically demonstrating exercises (lifting hand weights, performing pushups) to maintain high energy for 50-minute sessions. Candidates should exude confidence commanding a room, possess musicality to stay on beat, and ideally have a background in dance, fitness, cheerleading, or barre concepts. Training includes a 2-day session (virtual or in-person), several in-studio coaching sessions, and substantial at-home study; a minimum one-year teaching commitment is required before attending training. Compensation includes a base rate of $25 per hour with increases based on formats learned and number of classes taught, plus perks such as training opportunities and free unlimited membership at Pure Barre Tempe.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lead up to 20 participants through Pure Barre experience
- Availability to teach 2-5+ classes per week (early mornings, middays, evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Plan and prepare class choreography and planning prior to each class
- Learn full choreography changes quarterly
- Maintain tidy study and space
- Physical demonstration of exercises (hand weights, full body pushups) with high energy for 50-minute class
- Confidence to energetically command a room of 20 people
- Musicality and ability to count to the beat of music
- Background in dance, fitness, cheerleading or barre concept (ideal but not required)
- Experience with Pure Barre classes preferred
- Passion for fitness and helping others
- Ability and desire to build client relationships through outstanding customer service
- Complete 2-day virtual or in-person training and significant home study before teaching
- Minimum one-year commitment to teaching before attending training
