Job Summary
Greet and check in with members while building relationships and assisting with basic concerns regarding classes and programs. Maintain cleanliness throughout the fitness center by proactively cleaning areas, filling dispensers, and reporting equipment outages. Ensure safety by enforcing policies, inflating fit balls, and checking exercise bands. Set up orientation appointments and attend all required training courses and meetings. Exhibit core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles within 6 months of hire or an action plan in place
- Listen First within 6 months of hire or an action plan in place
- CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire
- Strong communication and listening skills are required
- Must be able to move around the work environment
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and focus
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans
- Attend all training courses, staff meetings and in-services without exception
- Must comply with YMCA abuse prevention policies, including screening, training, supervision, and reporting requirements
