Job Summary
Lead the Personal Training department by recruiting, hiring, and developing a team of qualified trainers while driving revenue through consultations, promotions, and consistent member outreach. Manage trainer schedules, floor hours, and non-session hours within approved budgets, ensuring staff follow Time & Labor guidelines and maintain current certifications. Coach trainers on sales conversations, client service, programming, and member follow-up, addressing performance issues and employee relations matters as needed. Oversee accurate documentation of Personal Training services, including assessments, measurements, and progress checks, while executing monthly marketing initiatives to create new business. Communicate business results and action plans to the General Manager, ensuring the team delivers high-quality programs that support client goals and retention.
Required Qualifications
- Current CPR/AED certification
- basic First Aid knowledge
- Current nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification
- four-year related degree such as Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Physical Education, Nutrition, or a similar field
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift heavy weights, squat, bend, reach, spot members, and stand or walk for extended periods
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
