Job Summary
Fitness Center Attendant provides guidance on fitness equipment and programs, ensures participant safety, instructs members on fitness orientations, maintains clean and organized facilities, and supports member retention and YMCA fundraising efforts. The role requires collaboration with staff, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to supervise groups while delivering friendly customer service; CPR and First Aid are required within 30 days of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment
- Ability to pass criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children
- Sound working knowledge of accepted fitness practice and standards
- Ability to develop and implement exercise plans for members
- Ability to supervise large groups of program participants in a workout environment
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines
