Job Summary
Oversee all interactions on the fitness floor, maintain a safe environment, and perform facility rounds every 30-60 minutes monitoring pools, locker rooms, and equipment. Schedule fitness assessments, orientations, and follow-up appointments while providing supervision, basic exercise instruction, and promoting ancillary services like personal training and nutrition. Arrive as first responder to medical emergencies with AED and supplies, complete incident reports, and assist in member retention programs. Maintain cleanliness, inspect equipment for maintenance needs, and execute opening and closing procedures across all scheduled days.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Enrolled in a health-related, exercise science, kinesiology, or physical education program and working towards a bachelor's degree
- Prior work experience or an internship in the fitness industry
- Outgoing, personable and have the ability to motivate members and actively teach assigned courses
- CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire
- Nationally recognized NCCA accredited certification
- Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Ability to work with members in a positive, service based manner
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to lift 45 pounds
