Job Summary
The First Steps 4K Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and implementing weekly lesson plans that align with the approved curriculum, ensuring developmental appropriateness tailored to individual child assessments. The role requires engaging with children during activities, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and attending mandatory trainings. Strong communication skills in both oral and written form are necessary, alongside the ability to work collaboratively and support trauma-informed practices. The position mandates a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, along with at least six months of childcare experience and passing a thorough background check.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education
- At least six months experience in a childcare setting
- Ability to pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry background check
- Provide a minimum of two references familiar with work history
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of substance use disorders and their effects on the family unit
- Understanding of trauma-informed care
