Job Summary
Monitor workflow and adjust to changes by directing and guiding others in the assigned department while keeping the supervisor updated on progress and challenges. Complete daily workloads involving picking, packing, handling, and moving product safely to maximize productivity, including receiving, put-away, cycle counting, order checking, and shipping. Operate lift equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe manner, maintaining neat and accurate records while interpreting orders and product descriptions. Work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment, utilizing judgment to solve problems and adapt to interruptions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of directly related experience or equivalent work experience
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of all processes and policies relating to all duties performed in their assigned department(s)
- Working knowledge of currently utilized warehouse management software and equipment used in their department(s)
- Must be able to maintain neat and accurate records
- Must be skilled in basic arithmetic and have ability to read and interpret orders, product description, and/or numbers in the English language
- Must be able to become certified through the Sally Beauty Lift Truck Training Program in order to efficiently and safely operate a forklift within the time frame specified by management
- Must be able to perform the basic lifting and system tasks for all warehouse functions and departments including receiving, put away, picking, packing, cycle counting, order checking and shipping
- The work requires the repetitively lifting of cartons weighing 10 to 55 pounds
- standing/walking for 6 to 12 hours a day
- climbing up and down stairs and ladders
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer prior distribution/warehouse experience
- Basic computer skills
