First Response Unit Ambulance Volunteer

Job Summary
Respond to 111 calls and support patients through their journey, whether treated on scene, referred to another provider, or transported to a medical facility. Cover local and international sports events, school fairs, and concerts as an Events Volunteer. Complete NZQA-recognised training over 6-9 months, including online modules, classroom sessions, and workbooks. Maintain a clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months or complete an approved NZTA advanced driving course. Be available for approximately two 12-hour shifts and one training session per month. Live within a 15-minute drive from the Hunterville Station.
Required Qualifications
- A full and clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months or have completed an approved NZTA advanced driving course (if full licence held for less than 12 months)
- To be 18 years of age or over
- New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status
- A clean police record
- To be able to pass Hato Hone St John assessments - physical assessment, health questionnaire, literacy and numeracy assessments and an interview
- To meet our Medical Standards
- To be available for regular duty and training (approximately two 12-hour shifts and one training session per month)
- Live within a 15-minute drive from the Station
