Job Summary
Disciple a small group of students through weekly meetings, regular prayer, encouraging notes, and visiting local middle and high schools during lunch breaks. Build trust with youth and school administrations by attending their extracurricular sports and arts activities several times a semester. Spend time with high school student leaders to equip them for faith, evangelism, and program support. Attend and lead small group discussions during weekly Sunday School, Upward Bound, and High Life meetings. Occasionally teach large group meetings, assist in planning hallmark retreats and camps, and manage supply gathering and setups. This role supports the vibrant 231-student youth ministry serving grades 6-12 at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, GA, utilizing the renovated Depot campus for programs including winter retreats and summer trips.
Required Qualifications
- A completed college degree
- Willingness to officially join the membership of First Presbyterian Church within the first six months of employment
Desired Qualifications
- 1–3 years of paid, full-time, ministry-specific experience working with youth
