First Nations Wellbeing and Engagement Officer

Job Summary
Build and strengthen relationships between Carer Gateway and Aboriginal communities across WA by developing partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and promoting Carer Gateway services to First Nations carers. Conduct Carer Star planning sessions, coordinate referrals to identified supports, and deliver culturally appropriate, person-centred support services while maintaining accurate client records. Contribute to the Aboriginal Working Group to support culturally informed practice across the wider team. This Full Time Indigenous Identified role is based in Perth on a Fixed Term contract until 30 June 2027.
Required Qualifications
- Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander
- Demonstrated experience engaging and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Experience in community services, health, aged care, disability, mental health, or a related sector
- Strong understanding of barriers faced by First Nations people when accessing support services
- Experience undertaking intake, assessment, planning, support, and referral processes
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong administration and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and client management systems
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
- ability to undertake outreach activities
