Job Summary
Reduce systemic barriers to Personal Safety Initiative access for Aboriginal community members by clarifying roles across providers, auditors, and housing agencies. Develop practical resources for case managers on approval pathways and escalation options while advising on culturally safe implementation and identifying unsafe practices. Establish structured feedback loops from Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations into government bodies to ensure Aboriginal perspectives inform system reform. Act as the secondary escalation point for statewide Family Violence Case Managers, reviewing risk-based decisions and supporting stronger applications for complex cases. Maintain a statewide system issues register, identify trends, and design regular reporting to advocate for expanded technology standards and consistent practice.
Required Qualifications
- A Victorian Employees Working with Children's Check card or willing to obtain one
- Willing to obtain a Police Check at Djirra's expense
- Driver's License
- Tertiary qualification (degree) in social work, community development, human services or welfare (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the family violence sector, preferably with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience providing specialist family violence services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Familiarity with the Personal Safety Initiative response
- Experience developing, implementing and evaluating programs and initiatives
