Job Summary
First Nation Community Officer responsible for the Central West Region to support and enhance wellbeing in First Nation communities. The role involves engaging with community members to identify needs, developing and implementing programs promoting health, education, and social welfare, collaborating with local organisations and government agencies to secure resources, facilitating workshops and training, monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness, and advocating for the rights and interests of First Nation communities at local and regional levels. The position is permanent and full-time, with responsibilities including maintaining accurate records of engagement activities.
Required Qualifications
- A relevant qualification in social work, community development, or a related field
- Experience working with First Nation communities or in a social care environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and community members
- Knowledge of cultural protocols and issues affecting First Nation communities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
