Job Summary
Perform comprehensive First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 standards by interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure product conformance. Utilize precision measuring equipment including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to document detailed inspection results and identify non-conformances. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve discrepancies, maintain and calibrate tools, and participate in root cause analysis for corrective actions. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree in a technical field
- 3+ years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment
- Specific experience in First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM)
- Strong understanding of AS9102 FAI requirements and other relevant industry quality standards
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills for identifying and documenting non-conformances
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with GD&T software (e.g., PolyWorks, Calypso)
- IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
