Firmware Validation Engineer - Brake & Steering (6+ years)

Job Summary

Develop and maintain brake and steering subsystem technical specifications while coordinating firmware validation and regression testing. Lead defect resolution and impact assessments, partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and firmware issues. Execute test methodologies using HIL assets and develop diagnostic scripts to ensure systems meet performance and release milestones. Collaborate with mechatronics, robotics, and AI experts to drive continuous improvement across architecture and systems engineering. Manage program development processes and long-term schedule planning to support critical engineering milestones.

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in engineering or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience within the automotive or similar industry
  • Track record debugging ambiguous, multi-faceted problems involving hardware, software, and firmware
  • Experience with automotive actuator controls & validation methods
  • Experience with the implementation of various test methodologies and developing and operating HIL test assets
  • Knowledge of automotive program development, release processes, and long-term schedule planning

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience at automotive OEM or Tier 1 brake and/or steering controls developer
  • CANalyzer, dSPACE, Polarion, Jira, and Confluence experience
