Job Summary

Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for wearable devices using RTOS platforms, implementing drivers and middleware for sensors, connectivity, and power management. Integrate communication protocols including BLE, UART, SPI, and I2C while collaborating with hardware, mobile app, and product teams to optimize battery life and system performance. Support firmware bring-up, debugging, validation, and OTA upgrade mechanisms, analyzing field issues to implement robust fixes. Participate in architecture discussions, develop test automation tools, and contribute to firmware design reviews across smartwatch, smart ring, and smart band platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor&/or Masters degree in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 4–8 years of experience in embedded firmware development
  • Strong proficiency in C programming and embedded software design
  • Experience working with RTOS-based systems (FreeRTOS, RT-Thread, Zephyr, ThreadX, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex-M preferred)
  • Experience with communication interfaces: BLE, UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, PWM
  • Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG, SWD, Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, and Protocol Analyzers
  • Good understanding of low-power embedded system design
  • Familiarity with Git and software development lifecycle practices

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience developing firmware for smartwatches, smart bands, smart rings, TWS, or IoT products
  • Experience with Nordic, Realtek, SiFli, Ambiq, Dialog, Telink, or similar wearable chipsets
  • Experience integrating health and fitness sensors
  • Knowledge of BLE profiles and wearable communication architectures
  • Understanding of bootloaders, OTA update mechanisms, and secure firmware development
  • Familiarity with LVGL or embedded UI frameworks
  • Experience working with manufacturing test firmware and factory tools
  • Basic understanding of signal processing and wearable algorithms
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and drive feature ownership
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to balance performance, memory, and power constraints
  • Product-oriented mindset with focus on user experience and reliability
  • Experience with smartwatch watchface engines and graphics rendering
  • Experience integrating AI or voice-assistant features on embedded devices
  • Knowledge of sensor fusion, motion processing, or health-monitoring algorithms
  • Experience working with cloud-connected wearable ecosystems
  • Experience: 4–8 Years
