Job Summary
Develop firmware (embedded C/ARM) for optical communications products and implement control algorithms for Skorpios silicon photonics ICs via SPI, I2C, and low-level protocols. Engineer test software in C# to automate custom and commercial equipment using USB, GPIB, and TCP/IP interfaces while optimizing cycle time, quality, and reliability. Support DVT of customer-facing interfaces ensuring compliance with SFF-8636 and CMIS specifications and provide tools for technician fault isolation. This role involves maintaining existing and developing new solutions for Skorpios Optical Communications products. You will work on disruptive silicon photonics technology within a temperature-controlled open cubicle setting, with occasional cleanroom exposure.
Required Qualifications
- BS in science or engineering
- Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
- Experience with C# or similar object-oriented programming language
- Experience with embedded C firmware development
- >2 years of experience working in manufacturing and/or development environments
- 5-10 years of experience
- Programming experience in Object Oriented languages
- VB.NET or C# is preferred
- Programming experience in embedded C
- ARM core development is preferred
- Less than 25% anticipated travel
