Job Summary
Monitor Service Now applications for firewall incidents and service requests, then implement rules, troubleshoot Palo Alto and FortiGate devices, and analyze network traffic captures. Escalate issues to Tier 3 staff while performing recurring maintenance like reboots and software upgrades on perimeter security systems. Collaborate across agencies to implement network changes, support the Diplomatic Security CIRT with block requests, and update architecture diagrams using Visio. Draft outage notifications, maintain shift logs, and document standard operating procedures. This hybrid role in Beltsville, MD requires 3 days on-site during a 6-8-week training period. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Top-Secret clearance are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- BA degree
- 2-4 years of experience
- In Depth experience using Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama monitoring tools to troubleshoot and configure a Firewall infrastructure
- Strong understanding of networking, proxy, and packet filtering technologies
- Minimum 3-5 years of IT Customer Support experience (Tier I and/or Tier II)
- First-hand experience with supporting the monitoring and configuration of Firewall/DMZ infrastructure including Network and Application Firewall Packet Filtering technologies (Palo Alto, Palo Alto virtual FW (cloud), FortiGate, Azure Firewall, Cloudflare, Cisco Email Security Appliances (ESA), A10 (Load Balancer), and proxy devices)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An Interim Secret clearance is required to start work and requires eligibility to obtain a Top-Secret clearance
Desired Qualifications
- CLI experience preferred
- Experienced in utilizing network monitoring tools such as NeuralStar
- Experienced with TCP/IP network implementation and troubleshooting
