Job Summary
Respond to fire alarms, operate auxiliary equipment, deploy hose lines, and perform extrication techniques using heavy hydraulic equipment during emergency scenarios at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Conduct rescue operations for incapacitated personnel, provide standby support for aircraft arrivals and departures, and maintain fire apparatus and tools in a constant state of readiness. Execute hazardous operational standbys and perform basic fire prevention and EMT-B duties as assigned. This part-time, on-call role requires a valid Class E driver's license, security clearance, and Firefighter I & II certification. Candidates must reside within commutable distance of the Cape Canaveral, FL facility.
Required Qualifications
- DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard Firefighter Certifications
- Firefighter I & II
- NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800
- Airport Firefighter
- Hazardous Materials Operations
- National Registry EMR, EMT or Florida EMT
- high school diploma or GED
- at least 21 years of age
- valid Class E Florida state driver's license
- security clearance
- Honorably discharged from the Armed Services
- Physical Certification
- English language proficiency
