Job Summary
Sell firearms, fishing, archery, and camping merchandise by advising customers on features, demonstrating products, and recommending accessories. Complete ATF forms, verify customer background information using FBI and State systems, and process sales. Handle routine telephone inquiries, stock shelves, price merchandise, and maintain department inventory. Perform general floor maintenance, move materials using hand trucks or pallet jacks, and ensure safekeeping of all inventory. Work any retail shift while adhering to strict age restrictions and background check requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 18+ years of age
- Experience and knowledge of firearms, shooting, scopes, ammo, reloading, and accessories
- Knowledge of 4473 forms
- Rigorous attention to detail
- Computer skills
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues
- Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check
- Must be willing to work any retail shift
- Must be able to complete training courses and pass certification tests provided by D&B Supply
- Must be able to work majority of shift standing
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to climb, reach, bend, stoop and crawl
- Must be able to physically participate in resets, remodels and reconstruction projects
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of 4473 forms
- Hunting, fishing, camping, shooting, and general outdoors experience
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- College degree
- Previous merchandising experience
- Good communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with customers and staff on a regular basis
