Job Summary
Conduct active patrols of shipyard work areas during hot work activities to identify and mitigate fire hazards. Maintain continuous vigilance to monitor and report unsafe conditions, ensuring fire safety equipment remains accessible and functional. Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergencies while accurately recording incidents for supervisors. Comply with OSHA regulations and maintain accountability for all issued equipment. This contingent role requires US citizenship, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance, and the ability to stand and patrol for up to eight hours. Candidates must wear required PPE and demonstrate strong hazard awareness.
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and hazard awareness
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for up to 8 hours at a time including walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, and prolonged periods of sitting
- Willingness and ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations
- US Citizenship
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Passing a pre-employment background check
- Passing a drug screen
