Fire Truck Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and air systems on fire trucks and ambulances; performing preventative maintenance and repairs; accurately documenting repairs, labor time, and parts usage; completing safety inspections and ensuring vehicles are ready for service; maintaining a clean, safe work area and following OSHA and company safety standards; assisting other technicians as needed and working as part of a team. Work in a primary indoor service shop with occasional field or outdoor work in Hagerstown, MD; schedule is Monday through Friday with overtime available; benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, PTO from day 1, tool allowance, and boot reimbursement; preferred candidates have diesel mechanic experience on heavy duty or emergency vehicles and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy duty or emergency vehicles
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening
