Job Summary
Conduct routine tests and inspections of fire alarm, sprinkler, and safety systems, documenting deficiencies and verifying proper operation. Prepare accurate inspection reports for management and interface with service management to schedule work. Communicate with customers to explain procedures, resolve concerns, and ensure satisfaction. Maintain truck inventory of parts and tools while adhering to company safety policies. Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to interpret system policies. Obtain NICET Level I certifications in inspection and testing within one year and drive vehicles for extended periods during flexible, on-call shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of High School/Vocational training
- Experience inspecting fire alarm products, wet and dry fire sprinkler systems or industry-related experience
- Must be proficient in the use and application of personal computers
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, schematics, diagrams, policies, procedures, etc. as presented in English
- Must obtain NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems and NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems within one (1) year
- Must obtain and retain any licenses and certifications that are required by state and/or local codes
- Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with 'on call availability' and must be able to travel on short notice
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods
- Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures
- Must have a strong work ethic
- Must be detail-oriented
- Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with fire sprinkler and fire alarm system preferred
