Job Summary
Testing and inspecting fire alarm systems and fire sprinkler systems; perform routine inspections, document deficiencies, verify operation, and prepare reports. Communicates with customers to explain work performed, interfaces with service management to schedule work, maintains truck inventory, adheres to safety policies, and may travel on short notice; requires NICET Level I in relevant inspections within 1 year and a valid driver’s license, with flexibility for on-site, full-time work. On-site location in Grand Rapids, MI.
Required Qualifications
- High School or Vocational training
- 1+ years experience inspecting fire alarm products, wet fire sprinkler systems or related industry experience
- Proficient in the use and application of personal computers
- Working knowledge of test equipment (multimeters, battery analyzers, decibel meters)
- Familiar with fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems
- NFPA 72 and NFPA 25 understanding
- Valid driver’s license and ability to clear a drug screen
- Must obtain NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems within 1 year
- Must obtain NICET Level I or equivalent in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems within 1 year
- Licenses/certifications as required by state/local codes
