Job Summary

Fire Tech II role focusing on service inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of fire protection equipment and systems. Responsibilities include performing shop and field inspections, completing accurate documentation for invoicing, conducting/delivering pre-job and post-job briefs, assisting with material handling and loading, maintaining clean work areas, operating safety and communications equipment, and using fall-arrest and PPE. Requires knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and related regulations, as well as offshore/onshore certification readiness, NICET licensing requirements if applicable, and ability to obtain or maintain TWIC and potentially a DOT-endorsed driver's license. Educational background includes a High School diploma or GED with two years of field experience; Associate degree strongly preferred. Must be trained and certified to work in both onshore and offshore environments and capable of maintaining various fire protection and life-safety systems including fire suppression, gas detection, and alarm components.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least two (2) years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery or related industry
  • Associate degree in science or technical area strongly preferred
  • Must be able to obtain TWIC card and pass safety trainings such as Basic Plus, OSHA 10 hour
  • Must pass internal forklift certification as required
  • State Fire Licenses (if required by State) or NICET Level II testing (in two disciplines) or NICET Level III in one discipline for applicable areas of service
  • Knowledge of applicable CFR, Coast Guard and ABS regulations if offshore
  • Experience in installing gas detection systems and fire protection equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Proficiency with PPE and respiratory protection equipment
  • Driver’s license with DOT hazardous endorsement if facility requires
  • Ability to operate in shop and outdoor industrial environments
  • Team-oriented and safety-conscious mindset
